The following is a list of disinfectants with a Drug Identification Number (DIN) approved for sale in Canada. While most disinfectants work against coronaviruses, the following list of hard surface disinfectants is supported by evidence obtained from drug reviews that they are likely to be effective and can be used against SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
***Please note that inclusion in this list does not constitute approval by Health Canada and is not an exhaustive list of all disinfectants and cleaning products that may be used in public spaces, institutional and domestic. ***
